John Cena, the legendary wrestler-actor, knows how to treat his fans right. Now, he also has a record to prove why he is a class apart.
Before going any further, check out Cena's journey of granting 500 wishes of dying children:
A new record for John Cena: Cena has set a Guinness World Record by fulfilling the dreams of 650 dying children through a non-profit organisation, Make-A-Wish.
Cena's history with Make-A-Wish foundation: Cena first collaborated with Make-A-Wish in 2002, and 10 years later, became the foundation's 1,000th wish. He surprises the kids and meets them, fulfilling their wishes. During this cute meet-ups, he often brings one of his championship belts along.
The Make-A-Wish foundation is a non-profit organisation that helps fulfill the wishes of children who have been diagnosed with a critical illness.
Most of these children are between the ages of 2 and 18, and they can choose to meet a celebrity, go to an event or even give a gift to someone else through this foundation. Cena is the foundation's most requested celebrity for wishes. In the 42 years since the foundation began, no other single person has granted more than 200 wishes. Not Cena, though.
After granting 500 wishes in 2015, John Cena spoke to Reuters and said that helping people is the coolest thing to do.
Where did it all begin? John Cena is one of the richest wrestlers in the world, even though he ends up donating most of his wealth. He started off small, by offering to pay for veterans' and first responders' groceries, but as his fame and fortune grew, so did his contributions. He then started helping children battling terminal diseases like cancer with Make-A-Wish foundation.
Other work: Recently, he donated $500,000 to the first responders fighting last year's wildfires in California, through another foundation, FitOps.
Very proud of the work @fit_ops is doing for our veteran population and honored to be involved with this cause. The community surrounding our veterans is important so thank you to @theCHIVE for supporting! https://t.co/juYutB8cXJ

FitOps is an organisation helping to fight high rates of suicide among veterans by teaching them how to be personal trainers. Cena also launched a major fundraising campaign for the organisation, pledging to match every dollar donated dollar-for-dollar, up-to one million dollar.
