Taylor Swift breaks up with Matty Healy, and Swifties are not unhappy at all

American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift and Matthew Timothy Healy, also known as Matty Healy, the lead singer of the pop rock band The 1975, recently ended their relationship after dating for only a month. While some fans had expressed scepticism about their relationship from the start, many are finally happy after their breakup.

Following a six-year relationship with her former sweetheart, Joe Alwyn, Taylor Swift swiftly entered into a new romance with Matty Healy (which, once again, Swifties found hard to believe). According to media reports, this circumstance played a role in their decision to part ways.

The rumours of their breakup actually started when Matty kissed a security guard during the band's performance in Denmark on Friday. However, kissing random fans, be they male or female, is a common move for him. But TMZ confirmed the rumours about the couple's breakup.

But why did the Taylor Army hate Matty Healy in the first place?

Matty Healy is always known for his controversies from kissing fans in the crowd to saying degrading comments about Ice Spice. Take a look: 

It all started in February when Healy received backlash while appearing on The Adam Friedland Show podcast. During the episode, the podcast hosts made derogatory jokes at the expense of rapper Ice Spice, who happens to be a collaborator of Swift (Karma song).

Although Healy himself didn't make explicit remarks, he laughed along with the hosts as he shared a story about his involvement with explicit content from a porn franchise called "Ghetto Gaggers." 

According to various media organisations, one thing was made pretty clear: that it was not meant to last and their relationship was more of a fling than anything else and they will return back to being friends.

Matty and Taylor's relationship

Both Taylor and Matty have been friends for years now, but their dating rumours accelerated when both of them were spotted at the Nashville stop of her Eras Tour in May. That same weekend, the duo was photographed together.

Shortly after that, Swift and Healy publicly showed their affection for each other when they were seen holding hands during a dinner date, accompanied by Antonoff and his fiancée, Margaret Qualley on May 11.
