The Kerala Story makers team up for new project Bastar, releasing in 2024

Director Sudipto Sen and producer Vipul Shah, the creative team behind the successful film The Kerala Story, have officially revealed their upcoming project, Bastar, scheduled for release in 2024.

Sunshine Pictures, the production house behind several critically acclaimed movies, recently unveiled their highly anticipated film, 'Bastar,' with a theatrical release date set for April 5, 2024. This new venture is once again inspired by a true incident.

Their previous film, 'The Kerala Story,' captivated audiences and achieved great success in Bollywood, becoming one of this year's highest-grossing films, crossing the coveted Rs 200-crore mark.

Sunshine Pictures made the official announcement by sharing the movie's poster on their social media platforms. The poster intriguingly declares, "Prepare for the unveiling of a hidden truth that will shake the nation—'Bastar.'" Subsequently, director Sudipto Sen took to Twitter to share the same poster, providing additional insights into the film's storyline.

In his tweet, the director wrote, "On April 6, 2010, in the village of Chintalner, Dantewada District, Bastar, Chhattisgarh, a tragic incident unfolded where 76 CRPF jawans and 8 innocent villagers lost their lives in a brutal terrorist attack. After an exact span of 14 years, poetic justice will be served..."
