Seoul turns Purple to celebrate BTS’s 10th anniversary

Korean boyband sensation BTS is celebrating its 10th anniversary this week. BigHit Music, the group's record label, recently released a trailer for BTS Festa in Seoul, South Korea, taking place on June 12 to 25. Details are gradually being announced on BTS's official Twitter handle.  

Several locations in Seoul are turning Purple, the official colour of BTS fandom, for the occasion.

BigHit Music released a teaser with the slogan BTS Presents Everywhere. In a recent video shared by ARMYs (BTS fandom), it can be seen that Han River, one of the most popular spots in the city, was covered with purple lights.

How is BTS celebrating its 10th anniversary?

  • Major landmarks in Seoul like Some Sevit, N Seoul Tower, Seoul City Hall, Dongdaemun Design Plaza, and the World Cup Bridge are turning purple. 
  • The events are being held in collaboration with the Seoul Metropolitan Government. 
  • Recently, fans shared a video of Han River decorated with purple lights in Seoul. 

  • There is even going to be an Army Road set up where fans will be able to stop to celebrate the occasion. 
  • BTS is also releasing a new solo track called Take Two, in which all the members of the team participated.

Where is BTS now?

  • BTS is on a hiatus right now. Members Jin and J-Hope are currently serving in the military, which is mandatory in South Korea. 
  • Other members RM, Jimin, V, Suga and Jungkook are working on personal projects. 
  • Suga recently completed his solo world tour in Yokohama, Japan. Suga's collaboration with Halsey for Lilith, also recently released on YouTube. 
  • Jungkook is reportedly set to make his solo debut on July 14. 
  • On the other hand, it isn't known whether all BTS members will attend the festivities lined up in Seoul, given two members are in military service.
