The world has been infected with Pedro Pascal fever. With HBO’S The Last Of Us out now and The Mandalorian Season 3 nearly here, the actor just added hosting Saturday Night Live to his prolific resume.
The Internet’s new “Daddy” was greeted with a thunderous applause as he made his SNL debut this weekend. Donning a dashing purple shirt, the Chilean-American star kicked the live show off with his host monologue - which was just as hilarious as it was inspiring.
Reeling from the fame of Game of Thrones and Star Wars, the star recounts being stopped in public to Facetime a six-year-old - a moment that he considered creepy since his ‘Mando’ voice comes off as a provocative ‘bedroom voice’.

The actor proceeds to talk about his native country Chile and his extended family (who seem overly enthusiastic in giving out his phone number to locals).
He also mentions the bravery of his parents in resisting and fleeing the erstwhile military dictatorship in Chile under President Augusto Pinochet, to bring him and his siblings to the United States in search for a better life.

Over the course of the episode, Pascal indulges the audience with a number of funny skits. Here are some of the best moments:
In a parody quiz show skit, Pascal takes part in a series of cinema related questions, including one asking him to identify the 2022 film for which actress Andrea Riseborough managed to bag a massively controversial Oscar nomination. The answer - To Leslie - unsurprisingly, had the competition baffled.

Next, Pascal tries really hard to keep it together while performing a skit satirising an “LA Mush Mouth” accent.

Pascal proceeds to capitalise on the Internet’s infatuation with him in a skit satirising high school ‘Fancam’ culture…

Later, Pascal and the SNL cast fail to keep it together during a real ‘table-moving’ skit,

But the show stealing skit of the night was Pascal’s impersonation of a middle-aged Hispanic mother, that had everyone in splits.
