Renowned British singer Paul Mccartney, one of the two living members of the legendary band The Beatles, on Tuesday (June 13) announced that the last song from the band, which was left undeveloped since John Lenon’s death, will be released this year because of the help from artificial intelligence.
Recently, McCartney announced in an episode of BBC Radio 4’s Today Programme that with the help of AI, an incomplete song, which was initially composed by Lenon, has been fully developed and will be released for the whole world to listen to. Reportedly, an AI software was used to extract or, in the words of Paul, “extricate” Lennon's voice from an old demo clip and ultimately composed the unfinished portions of the song in the late singer’s voice.
The name of the song was not disclosed by Paul during the show, but it is believed to be a 1978 composition of Lennon, namely ‘Now and Then’ which was one among the list of songs on the cassettes with the label “For Paul”. The song was one of those demos which was considered as a reunion song by John Lennon, which he was developing shortly before he was murdered in the year 1980. These demos were later on handed to Paul by Lennon’s widowed wife, Yoko Ono.
The song is basically an apologetic composition from Lennon's end to Paul and consists of a piano segment that the singer recorded while he was in his apartment in New York.
The use of AI has peaked to an extent that the human mind has been boggled beyond belief and with this particular instant, it has reached a new milestone.
