With 10 episodes as of today, Koffee With Karan Season 7 starts off with Alia Bhatt as one of the guests and then goes on to incorporate Alia in some way or the other in every other episode. Alia Bhatt is mentioned

The other words and phrases that Karan stresses on are the bazillion sponsors (“Turn on the Jaquar lights”), Alia Bhatt’s last film Gangubai Kathiawadi, nepotism, and the constant mentions of his old age as he changes between his “glam glasses” and 'budhapa glasses'.

Episode 1- Alia and Ranveer (Alia mentions- 15)

Obviously, Alia Bhatt’s episode has the highest mention of Alias. Apart from some Student of the Year anecdotes and discussions on working with Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Karan Johar got into the details for Alia’s recent marriage with Ranbir Kapoor. The Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham director took great pride in emphasising how it was his show’s couch that played a crucial role in setting up their matrimonial alliance.

This ‘couch manifestation’ went on to be a recurring theme, with Karan almost resorting to desperation to link up anyone and everyone who is sitting on the couch, ranging from Sara Ali Khan and Vijay Devarakonda to Kiara Advani and Sidharth Malhotra. 

Episode 2 - Sara and Janhvi (Alia mentions - 12)

The couch manifestation returned with the second episode, with Karan randomly bringing up the Alia-Ranbir wedding in whichever manner he could.

Episode 3 - Akshay and Samantha (Alia mentions - 5)

Akshay is a happilymarried B-Town veteran while Samantha Ruth Prabhu is a South superstar (who is also a recently divorced woman as Karan constantly brought it up hoping to get some ‘goss’ out of it). There was no scope to bring Alia’s name in the conversation and yet Karan found his way. 

Mentioning an Ormax survey of most popular Indian heroines, he emphasised how Samantha ranks at number 1 only to bring up the one ranked next to her (Alia, no surprise). 

The first question that Karan has after showing this survey to Samantha is, “You beat Alia Bhatt, dude. How does that feel?” Samantha just shrugged it off and said, “sorry."

Episode 9 - Tiger and Kriti (Alia mentions - 7)

The episode featuring Kriti Sanon and Tiger Shroff gained popularity for a viral clip that finds Karan Johar blatantly asking Kriti Sanon if she faces competition from Alia Bhatt (whom Karan unanimously refers to as the greatest actress in the country, world? universe?).

Sanon strategically answered the question, “Of course, it inspires. It drives me to do better. When I see great work…”

And then Karan interrupted her by adding, “like Gangubai”!

Episode 10 - Katrina, Ishaan and Siddhant (Alia mentions - 4)

The latest episode features Katrina Kaif and of course, Karan was intrigued to know the details behind her recent wedding with Vicky Kaushal. And, of course, Karan’s favourite celebrity married couple will be Alia-Ranbir. So, he ended up bringing the Alia-Ranbir model of marriage back in the conversation while also mentioning Alia’s views on the marriage’s ‘suhaag raat’ from the season’s debut episode.

The Internet already seems to be done with Karan’s extreme fascination for Alia. While some are bothered by how he so openly favours her over other heroines, others are just finding it creepy and cringe-inducing.
