Actor Jonah Hill's texts to ex-girlfriend and surfer Sarah Brady have taken social media by storm and sparked a discussion on emotional abuse perpetuated using "therapy vocabulary". Brady, 26, took to Instagram stories to share screenshots of purported texts sent to her by her then-boyfriend Hill.
Brady accused Hill of emotional abuse, manipulative and controlling behaviour during their relationship. The pair who made their red carpet debut in December 2021, reportedly broke up in 2022 after nearly a year of dating.
The reason the Jonah Hill texts resonate so much with women is because every woman alive has had multiple men confidently tell her what to do, how to dress, how to speak and even what she may or may not eat.

And they don’t resonate with most men because men rarely exhibit this… pic.twitter.com/ik6VTLXH7l
Here’s the rest of the Jonah Hill text from Jonah Hill’s ex where Jonah Hill’s insecurity shows and how he tried to gaslight her (is that enough for Twitter algo to pick up?) pic.twitter.com/nhXUWWhq7m

Re: Jonah Hill’s gross texts: my therapist honestly changed my life when he stopped me from saying someone was “violating my boundaries” and explained that boundaries are values you impose on yourself and your own behavior, not rules you can enforce on other people.

Speaking of dudes like Jonah Hill misusing therapy speak: I met a guy on bumble and went on one date on a Saturday. I cut the date short because weird vibes. He called me at 1am three times. Then he sent this text on Sunday night.

I had not agreed to meet with him on Sunday. pic.twitter.com/5JnyQYMt93
Jonah Hill has not responded to the social media outcry.
In January, Hill welcomed his first baby with his girlfriend Olivia Millar. Hill has also been very vocal about his struggle with mental health and body image issues. He also released a documentary, Stutz, last year on the life and career of his psychiatrist, Dr Phil Stutz.
