Amidst a backdrop of controversy surrounding Lizzo and a civil lawsuit filed against her by former dancers alleging sexual harassment, racism, and body-shaming, Beyonce has made her stance clear on the American rapper. While performing at her recent Renaissance Tour concert in Atlanta, Georgia, US, Beyonce gave a shoutout to Lizzo, declaring, "I love you, Lizzo."
Taking centre stage at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia on Monday night, August 14, as part of her Renaissance Tour, Beyonce seized the opportunity to express her support for Lizzo.
The Grammy award-winning artist seamlessly weaved Lizzo's name into her rendition of the song "Break My Soul," and with undeniable enthusiasm, she proclaimed, "Lizzo! I love you, Lizzo!"

This public display of affection towards Lizzo is particularly noteworthy considering Beyoncé's earlier performance on August 1 at the Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts. During the Queens Remix performance of her song "Break My Soul," Beyonce noticeably omitted Lizzo's name, opting to repeat American singer Erykah Badu's name four times instead.
Fans were quick to speculate that Beyonce's decision to skip mentioning Lizzo's name was a response to the prominent allegations of sexual and racial harassment, as well as a toxic work environment, brought forth by three of Lizzo's former dancers.
The allegations gained further momentum when an additional six individuals came forward with similar accusations against Lizzo.

Addressing these speculations, Beyonce's mother, Tina Knowles, recently dismissed any notion that Beyonce was showing disappointment or throwing shade at Lizzo by not including her name in the lineup. Tina Knowles emphasized, "She [Beyoncé] also didn't mention her own sister's name—y'all should really stop." The reference to "sister" is believed to pertain to Beyonce's former Destiny's Child bandmate, Kelly Rowland, as Beyoncé's biological sister, Solange Knowles, was indeed acknowledged in the performance.
Beyonce's gesture of support and affection towards Lizzo follows the cancellation of the 2023 Made in America Music Festival, which is overseen by Beyonce's husband, JAY-Z. The festival was set to be headlined by Lizzo and SZA.
