How BTS Jungkook's vocals intimidated singer Kim Jong-wan

BTS Suga's recent episode of his show "Suchwita" showcased singer Kim Jong-wan from the alternative rock band Nell, who confessed to being intimidated by Jungkook's remarkable guide vocals.

Suga, an ardent fan of Nell's music, met lead vocalist Kim Jong Wan and couldn't contain his admiration.

Why is Kim Jong-wan 'scared' of Jungkook?

  • Kim Jong-wan and Suga collaborated on Suga's "D-2," which includes the song "Dear My Friend." During the episode, Kim Jong Wan revealed that he chooses to collaborate with other artists based on their shared love for music.
  • Upon reviewing Suga's work, he found a perfect collaborator. Kim shared that he temporarily put other projects on hold to devote the attention their song deserved, owing to the deeply resonant lyrics.
  • Despite his extensive experience in the music industry, Kim admitted to initially being "quite scared" of Jungkook.
  • Kim was impressed by Jungkook's guide vocals but felt the pressure to match up. Suga also lauded Jungkook's distinctive voice, highlighting the admiration it garnered.

Subsequently, BIGHIT Music urged Suga not to use Jungkook for guide vocals, citing the pressure his talent placed on other artists.
