The trailer for Zach Galifianakis's newest Apple TV+ movie, 'The Beanie Bubble,' was released on Friday (June 23), offering a glimpse into the creation of a globally acclaimed toy chain that captivated the world.
This has been the year for origin stories of renowned products. Be it Air, Blackberry or even the famous game of Tetris, we have seen it all. Coming up next, is the famous toy chain ‘Beanie Babies’ with Kristin Gore and Damian Kulash's 'The Beanie Bubble'
The trailer shows a completely unrecognisable Zach Galifinakis (yes, without the famous beard patch) playing the role of Ty Warner, the creator of the toy chain. Joining him is Elizabeth Banks and Sarah Snook who play the female characters which helped the stuffed animal chain boom up.
The overall tone of the trailer highlights a story filled with phenomenal 80s and 90s fashion, an over-the-top comic drama along with a tinge of relief to anyone who’s suffering from Succession withdrawal.
If the biopic turns out to do justice to the trailer, the movie is set to have some top-notch business pitches, salary feud and like any other business biopic, affairs. But, one thing that the trailer did not show much of, are the ‘Beanie Babies’.
In the entire two minute thirty-four seconds trailer, we hardly catch a sight of the renowned stuffed animal, which is quite bizarre since that is what the entire movie is about.
Unless, this turns out to be another one of those origins that just focuses on how many women did the CEO sleep with.
The movie is set to hit select theatres and Apple TV+ on July 21, 2023.
