Emmy Predictions Part 1 Drama: Squid Game, Succession, Severance?

After the long wait since first announcing their nominees, the Emmys are almost here. Here are our predictions for the 74th Primetime Emmy Awards, to be aired at 5.30 am IST, this Tuesday, September 13, 2022.

The nominees for the 74th Primetime Emmy Awards were announced on July 12 by the Television Academy across various different categories. The Television Academy President Frank Scherma kicked off the announcement by saying that the number of series submitted for consideration was at a record-high, after television production had suffered a massive blow during the pandemic. 

HBO’s Succession was the biggest contender, bagging 25 nominations across different categories, followed by Apple TV’s Ted Lasso and HBO’s The White Lotus, tied at 20 nods each. HBO led the nomination race this year, securing a total of 108 nominations and was closely followed by Netflix with 105 nominations.
