Camille Vasquez to star in docuseries about Johnny Depp-Amber Heard trial

Key member of Johnny Depp and Amber Heard’s defamation trial and social media star, Camilla Vasquez is all set to join Discovery+ UK’s new docuseries about the trial.

Recently, Vasquez was promoted to a partnership role at the legal firm associated with Depp, Brown Rudnick.

The series is a follow-up of Discovery+’s first documentary, Johnny vs Amber which focused on Depp’s 2020 libel at UK High Court. The documentary featuring Vasquez will focus on the ex-couple’s defamation trial, which began in April 2022 in Virginia, US.

The new documentary will feature testimonies and interviews with lawyers and representatives from both Depp and Heard’s sides.

The jury awarded US $15 million in damages to Depp and US $2 million to Heard as its verdict came on June 2.

Not only legal teams but friend, family and key witnesses of Depp and Heard will also appear in the docuseries.

Head of entertainment for Warner Bros. Discovery UK, Clare Laycock said in a statement, “When we commissioned ‘Johnny vs. Amber’ for Discovery+, we knew that we were tackling a very sensitive case but one with huge global profile and interest that would resonate with our audience.”

The episodes will focus on the revelations made about their relationship during the six-week trial along with the testimonies and evidence revealed.

While Johnny vs Amber debuted in December 2021, it is not yet known when the new documentary will be premiering.
