It's Jimin's Day in the world of the popular boy band BTS fandom, as October 13 marks the birthday of the esteemed member, Jimin. Since his debut and up to the present, he has been bestowed with many endearing nicknames from fans, but one has always stood out as a favorite: Mochi.
For those new to the BTS scene, the term "Mochi" might conjure various images. So, let's delve into why Jimin is affectionately referred to as the Mochi of BTS.
During his middle school years, Jimin attended the Just Dance Academy, where he mastered dance styles like popping and locking.
Prior to becoming a trainee, he specialized in contemporary dance at Busan High School of Arts and stood out in the modern dance department, which explains why the idol's graceful movements shine through during his performances.
A teacher's recommendation led him to join an entertainment company, and thus, Jimin became a part of Big Hit Entertainment and BTS.

K-Pop idols are often christened with endearing monikers by their devoted fandoms, and if you're an ARMY, you'd know that Mochi is one of the most popular ones. Fans began calling Jimin by this nickname after noticing a distinctive feature:
Ever since Jimin's debut, fans observed that when the idol pouts, his cheeks resemble something soft and squishy, much like the texture of a delightful sweet treat.
Mochi, a Japanese rice cake made from sticky rice, is known for its chewy texture and can be enjoyed plain or filled with sweet delights like red bean paste or ice cream.
Besides Mochi, Jimin has acquired several other endearing nicknames, including Chim Chim, Diminie, Dooly, Jiminie, and Park Jiminie.
