6 underrated KK songs you must listen to today

The versatile singer Krishnakumar Kunnath, who was popularly known as KK, breathed his last on May 31, 2022. He died after a performance in Kolkata, and left his fans in utter shock.

 The legendary singer had several hits under his name. There are also a few songs by KK which are absolute gems, but still underrated.

Here are 6 such songs:

1. MAINE DIL SE KAHA, ROG

This song from the movie Rog (2006) is composed by evergreen music composer MM Keeravani, who has recorded many soulful melodies with KK. The lyrics are penned by Nilesh Mishra. Maine Dil Se Kaha forms the opening sequence of the movie, as Irrfan goes from loneliness to looking at life from a slightly better perspective. 

2. AWARAPAN BANJARAPAN, JISM

Awarapan Banjarapan is also composed by MM Keeravani and the lyrics are penned by Sayeed Quadri. It was a masterpiece that was overshadowed by the more popular number, Jaadu Hai Nasha from the movie Jism.

3. EK NAZAR ME BHI PYAR HOTA HAI, TAXI NO 9211

This playful duet sung by KK and Sunidhi Chauhan is a treat to the ears. The movie Taxi No 9211 had some great songs composed by Vishal-Shekhar, but this one sung by KK and Sunidhi stands out. The lyrics of this song were by composer Vishal Dadlani himself.

4. DILNASHIN DILNASHIN, AASHIQ BANAYA AAPNE

Among all the chartbusters of this album by Himesh Reshamiya, Dilnashin Dilnashin hits you different. This was an underrated gem from KK which fans later loved listening to on loop. 

5. LABON KO, BHOOL BHULAIYAA 

KK recorded this song with composer Pritam. The album of Bhool Bhulaiyaa had several hit songs, but again, Labon Ko is something you just can’t miss.

6. BAS EK PAL, BAS EK PAL

The title track of Bas Ek Pal was composed and written by Mithoon. This album had Tere Bin, a massive hit by Atif Aslam. But the title track by KK was pure magic.
