3 big questions Arshad Warsi and Barun Sobti's Asur 2 left unanswered

Arshad Warsi and Barun Sobti starring Asur 2 has lived up to the expectations of the audience.Created by Gaurav Shukla and directed by Oni Sen, the mythological crime thriller has everything from crime, emotions, betrayals to love, hatred and revenge. Though the sequel arrived after a wait of three years, it enthralled the viewers with its unique storyline and top-notch performances.

Arshad Warsi, no doubt steals the limelight but Barun Sobti also delivers a memorable performance. The icing on the cake in the second part was the inclusion of a new officer, Paul, played by Meiang Chang.

The second season showed the fusion of mythology with technology and how the two are used by the antagonist (Shubh Joshi) to take his revenge from the human race on earth.

In the final episode, Shubh is killed in the jail by Nikhil Nair (Barun Sobti) but then, it also perplexes the viewer into grasping whether the issue had finally been buried with Shubh or there is more to it.

Here are three questions which Asur 2 left unanswered:

1. Is Vrinda the next Asur? In the final episode, Shubh Joshi (Abhishek Chauhan) is killed by officer Nikhil Nair (Barun Sobti) while Shubh is in jail. However, it was followed by a twist which came in the form of a monologue of Shubh telling that ‘Asurs don’t die, they just change their bodies’. 

“Kali ke liye pratyek ant ek naya pra-rambh hai” (Every end is a new beginning for Kali). At the same time, Dhananjay Rajput (Arshad Warsi) is seen visiting Shubh’s acquaintance, Vrinda Srivastav (Barkha Bisht Sengupta) at her place, but she isn’t there.

Instead, he finds drawings of mysterious creatures at her place. This also sends DJ into thinking whether Vrinda was all this while, a part of Shubh’s plan and if she was the mastermind.

2. Were Vrinda and Shubh in a relationship? Vrinda in episode 3 ‘Burning the Forest’ tells Dhananjay Rajput that she is indebted to Shubh, whom she met at the Trilok Dham in Haridwar. Though she is blind, she is seen reminiscing about the favors of Shubh in her life.

Moreover, the way Vrinda is hinted as the next Asur in the final episode also tells that there was much more between her and Shubh than what she had told Dhananjay Rajput. The question is, was Vrinda in a relationship with Shubh at the ashram? Were the two married? Did the two have a child out of their wedlock?

3. Where is Kamini’s daughter? Shubh’s agent, Kamini (Anurita Jha), who eliminates officer Ishani Chaudhary (Aditi Kalkunte), is later caught by the CBI as she is about to kill officer Nusrat Saeed (Ridhi Dogra) after kidnapping her. 

During the interrogation, officer Paul (Meiyang Chang) unnerves her by telling her that Shubh lied to her about her new-born daughter that she was dead. Instead, her daughter was alive and she was tricked by Shubh who had told her that her daughter was kidnapped from the hospital and later murdered by her in-laws.

Kamini yells at officer Paul saying “Wo Bhagwan hai mere liye” (He is God for me). Paul replies saying, “Konsa Bhagwan ek maa ko apni beti se juda karta hai” (Which God separates a mother from her child). This shakes Kamini and a change in her demeanour is seen henceforth.

However, we still do not know what happened to her daughter. Was Kamini’s daughter kidnapped by Shubh to train her for his treacherous plans? Was the child secretly kept by Shubh somewhere? Will Kamini now turn against the new Asur and try to find her daughter in the third episode?

Will there be a Season 3? Though the plot is set for Season 3, the makers Gaurav Shukla hasn’t announced it yet. Shukla recently said that he will proceed with the third installment of the series if only he finds a captivating story.

On the other hand, Arshad Warsi also said that he wishes to be part of third season, as he also wants to know who is killing all these people. 

Well not just Arshad, even the fans of Asur series are eagerly waiting to see the third part.
