'Game Of Thrones' Season 8 is almost here. But what’s in it for you?
That’s pretty much a redundant question — if it's Game of Thrones, there’s obviously a lot in it for you.
But wading through all the fake news can get a bit difficult.
Especially given Game of Thrones’ history with leaks and more than believable fan theories.
But, fret not, friends. Jon Snow may not know anything, but you shall, at least by the end of this piece.
"Winter is coming."
And so is Game of Thrones, Season 8!

HBO’s #forthethrone anthem, a teaser of sorts, clearly released for that very purpose — to tease their fans — announced the release date along with a montage of some of the most interesting and noteworthy moments from the show’s previous seasons.

GoT S8 has no trailer (yet).
So, there is no proper trailer trailer. What HBO released on Jan 13, 2019 is still just a teaser — but it gives out a bit more information about the upcoming season compared to the previous anthem.
We see Jon Snow, Aria and Sansa walking into the Crypts of Winterfell, as they pass statues of Lyanna Stark (Jon’s mother), Catelyn Stark, Ned Stark — all mouthing lines that have a great deal to do with Jon’s lineage.
Eventually, the three Stark kids stand before their own statues — which means they’re dead! Creepy!
But don’t miss the fact that Jon’s statue looks like an old man, while Arya and Sansa’s look their age. What is happening?
"The night is dark and full of terrors."
So is the Internet.
We can’t say we are particularly happy about the fact that HBO seems to now contribute to the fake news perpetuated about the GOAT show — Game of Thrones. And we’re talking about a teaser they had tweeted on Jan 7, 2019. It was just an advert of all the upcoming shows on HBO — not just GoT — edited in a way that it fell into the GoT theme.

Of course we see why they’re doing it — and it’s not just trailers, they’re shooting fake scenes too. As per a well thought-out strategy to combat leaks, HBO has decided to shoot multiple fake versions of the finale. So, while Daenerys Targaryen may get the throne in your downloaded version, your friend probably watched her burn to a crisp by her own dragons.
So, just wait till the show is actually released, instead of trying to cut the queue.
"If you think this has a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention."
For it is just the beginning.
Sure, you are going to suffer from withdrawal syndrome for some time. But soon, a Game of Thrones prequel will take up all your time. Slated for a 2020 release, this Game of Thrones spin-off will be called The Long Night. And this is no fake news, the GRRM reaper himself — George R Martin — shared the news on Twitter.

Now, this is an entirely new show, set 8000 years before the current game around the throne that is going on.
So it will have all-new faces, but will, sort of, help bridge certain gaps that were left when the books were adapted onto the screen.
(PS. You know the storyline in the book and the show is all different beyond a point, right?)
