While the jury’s out on the pros, cons and everything else about the ban on Pakistani actors from Bollywood, as well as the surgical strikes, no one seems to be talking about the venom-spewing Pakistani ambassador to India, Abdul Basit.
It’s strange that he, from time to time, and that too frequently makes provocative statements, only to be “summoned” to the external affairs ministry and given a “dressing down” (over tea and biscuits, of course).
Not only that, the Srinagar to Muzaffarabad (in PoK) bus route, which had been suspended for nearly three months in the wake of the Burhan Wani killing, was reopened immediately after the Indian Army’s cross-border operation. This happened at the height of charges and counter-charges being hurled across the border.
I have always held the view that we do not need Pakistani actors in India. We have enough talent in India, with hundreds of thousands arriving each day in Mumbai to make it in the glitz and glamour of Bollywood.
At the same time, we do not need the Pakistani ambassador. We also do not need the train or the bus. We do not need pilgrims coming from that country. We do not want them to take advantage of our medical facilities.
In a nutshell, we do not need Pakistan, its people or have anything to do with the country.

The border should be sealed, the ambassador shunted out, the train and the bus stopped and the so-called ceremony at Wagah cancelled.
We should not have anything to do with Pakistan – at any level. We do not need them; they need us. They need our medical facilities, our goods, our services, our trains, buses and everything else.
So why are we “soft"? Beats me.
We have never been friends with Pakistan. Nor will we ever be. The Pakistani army will make sure that the status remains.
Once we take these drastic steps, this “mothership” of terrorism will be brought to its knees.
And this will make our task of isolating the country globally that much easier.
