KRK to Hina Khan: 5 most hated and controversial stars of Indian television

Whether a television personality will be liked or not is no longer in the hands of scriptwriters. With proliferation of social media everywhere, the fate of the television stars depends a lot on what they are tweeting and posting.

Here is a list of five most hated stars on Indian television:

Kamaal Rashid Khan

Despite having no presence on the Indian television screen for a long time (he was a contestant of Bigg Boss 3), Kamaal Rashid Khan, or KRK, has seen outrageous success as the most irritable character on Indian television, thanks to his enraging tweets. Last year, his Twitter account got suspended after he spilled out the climax of Aamir Khan’s Secret Superstar on Twitter and Aamir Khan filed a complaint against it.

Following this suspension of the account, KRK even threatened to commit suicide. His account was soon restored, creating much trouble for Twitter users. For long he has been quiet, not making any controversial comment, but that is not taking away the crown of the most hated television personality from him either.

Hina Khan

She played the much loved character of Akshara in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. Even in Khatron ke Khiladi, she was not able to channelise this much hatred her way as she could during Bigg Boss 11. She was hated for her overreactions, for outrightly denying what she had said before.

Even after coming out of the Bigg Boss house, she denied half the things she had said inside the house.

Karan Patel and Divyanka Tripathi

The lead cast of Yeh Hai Mohabbatein — Karan Patel and Divyanka Tripathi — get trolled on social media from time to time based on what the serial director makes Raman and Ishita (their names on the show) do. Like now, Raman is being trolled for he may marry for the third time in the serial. But apart from the usual hate, Karan Patel also got the brickbats for trolling Hina Khan while Bigg Boss 11 was on air.

Yes, notwithstanding the amount of hate that Hina managed to get. 

Shyam Pathak

Sitcom Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma has managed to sustain its popularity all these years (since 2008) for its unwavering fun. But the character of Popatlal Pandey, essayed by Shyam Pathak, has lost its magic and has led to much disgust among the audience for his flat jokes.

Popatlal is a news reporter in a newspaper named "Toofan Express" and has been looking for a wife since time immemorial.

Shivani Tomar

Shivani Tomar created a buzz before Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon? 3 was aired last year, and most of it was in the form of hate.

The fans of the show were truly committed to Sanaya Irani, who used to star opposite Barun Sobti. The moment Shivani’s name was announced, she became one of the most hated actors just for replacing Sanaya.
