What happens when a Pakistani asks for free hugs in a crowded Delhi street?

That’s what 25-year-old Dhaval Gori wanted to know.

So the Mumbai-based former sea cadet decided to pretend he was from Pakistan and pull off a social experiment. Finding himself a spot at the buzzing Connaught Place, he held up a placard that read: “I am from Pakistan but I love India as much as you do. Can I get free hugs?” Here’s what happened next.

Gori and his friends Bhavesh Hagwane and Arun Bhat are planning an ambitious bike ride across the country and then across Pakistan in a bid to spread the message of peace.
