Here’s a piece of good news.
There will never be a dearth of Taimur’s photos on the Internet.
How do we know?
Well, Saif Ali Khan, it seems, is quite enjoying the fact that his family members (read, Kareena, Sara and Taimur) are breaking the internet on a regular basis — Kareena and Sara by their gym photos, Taimur by just being there.
To this, his nonchalant expression is: Who fixes the internet then?
The latest episode of Koffee with Karan, Season 6 was, of course, an attempt to launch Saif and Amrita’s daughter Sara Ali Khan, before she’s actually launched by what many are already calling the “ill-fated” Kedarnath. (Or maybe, to rekindle the memory of Sartaj Singh as Sacred Games is coming with Season 2).
But the underlying theme was to project the unusual camaraderie the father-daughter duo shares — courtesy an age gap of only 24 years.
Coming across as a “cool dad”, Saif Ali Khan spilled some industry secrets about Taimur.
One photo of Taimur apparently gets sold at a price of Rs 1,500 in media — this is what Saif Ali Khan's father-in-law has told him.
To this, Karan Johar added his exclamation mark as he thought Taimur’s “rate” was higher than Rs 1,500 — and definitely the highest in the industry. (His must be the lowest, he himself said).
Sara, being the newcomer in the industry, was probably quite taken aback at the uninhibited conversation of two “father” figures about their kids’ 'rates'. There, she received a pep talk from the producer of her 2nd film Simbaa, when Karan Johar told her that every celebrity has a “rate card” — including Sara.
But wasn’t there a little stir over Saif and Kareena not liking the photojournalists swooning over little Taimur, every time he turns his head, lifts a finger, mumbles something?
There was. But now, there isn’t anymore.
At least that’s what we get from this Koffee with Karan episode.
Yes, Saif thinks about the ill effects of the media attention seriously, but there’s nothing he can actually do. And according to him, Bollywood paparazzi culture is not yet that intrusive to be foiled by an embargo.
Taimur is comfortable in the limelight, photographers, too, don’t pounce on little Taimur — they just call him, wait for him to make little movements, and if that’s what makes someone happy and earn Rs 1,500 — chhote nawab has no problem at all.
After all, he is a proud part of a “modern family” — where Amrita Singh draped Sara Ali Khan for Saif’s wedding to Kareena Kapoor, Saif wrote an emotional letter to Amrita before the wedding and got it checked by Kareena and, for the longest time, Sara was confused whether to address Kareena as 'aunty' — and they all can have a good laugh about it on national television.
