It's February. Spring is just around the corner. It is also time to shed all the winter indulgence and make way for something lighter on your plate. An Apple Walnut Salad is just the recipe you need if you're looking for something filling yet not heavy on the stomach.
What you'll need
Apple - 1, unpeeled, sliced
Walnuts - 1/2 cup; candied, if possible
Iceberg Lettuce - 3 cups, torn
Red onions - 1/3 cup, thinly sliced
For the dressing:
Balsamic vinaigrette - can use a store-bought dressing or make it on your own using this recipe.
How to make it:
Mix the apples, iceberg lettuce, red onions and walnuts.
Add the balsamic vinaigrette dressing. Toss the salad a bit.
Your bowl of springy goodness is ready.
