Imagine for once that you are a star singer in North America. Your music band is the only one to have seven consecutive albums debut at number one on the Billboard charts. People love listening to your music and no matter where you go, people are crazy to get autographs and photographs with you. You have a hectic music concert schedule thanks to your active PR team and taking breaks between your concerts is what keeps you grounded from the fame and paparazzi.
All you want is a good ride to pump your nerves and feel grounded so that you can perform your best on stage some hours later. You know a little biking gets the adrenaline running and nature has its own way of working its magic on you. So off you go...
But here is the problem: Your bike tire runs a flat and your journey comes to a screeching halt. Worse, you don’t have the most important thing when you need it the most: your freaking cell phone. With someone who can have a big staff at his beck and call, what do you do when you don’t have the thing that can make a call?
Stranded in the middle of the road with so many cars passing by on top speed, it would only take a miracle to stop someone and for them to lend you their phone, let alone get rescued from this situation.
Also, how could you have left your phone?!?
This was the exact dilemma Dave Matthews was in when he was stuck with a flat tire, just a few hours before his concert.
ENTER THE KNIGHT(S) IN A SHINING CAR
As he pondered over his destiny, a couple in a car pulled up. Emily Kraus and her boyfriend were heading to a music concert and noticed this guy who was stranded with a flat cycle tire. They had to pull up. Reaching his concert early would be great, but they weren’t running late. So, why not help someone when you can?
When they pulled up, they couldn’t believe their situation. The biker was none other than Dave himself. Now what are the odds of that?

Emily was a diehard fan of Dave since the age of 9. Of course, it was once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to have the Rock God to yourself and to have the honour to drive him in your humble car. And drive where! To his own freaking concert!!
Who in their wild dream gets this kinda opportunity? That too with Dave himself?
Also, what are the odds of having a bike rack in your car?
While Emily held his helmet, her boyfriend put the bike in their bike rack in the car. They left for Dave’s concert with Dave sitting next to them.
Like many who feel dumbstruck and wonder what to talk about, Emily and her boyfriend didn't really know what to talk about during the ride. So, Dave sang for them during the ride and spoke about his tour and where he was from, y'know, small-talk and all that. He was waiting to take a break after that night’s concert to drop off his daughters to a camp.
They made it to the concert on time.
A SURPRISE AWAITS
Once they reached the concert, many surprises were lined up for them.
First, they got upgraded to first class seats for the entire concert. Dave then acknowledged "the nice lady named Emily" with a rap during the concert from the stage in front of the audience. Here is a clip where he told his crowd about his rescue story at about the 55-second mark.
After the concert, they got access to the coveted backstage passes! And if that was not enough, they closed the day with dinner together.
Way to enjoy the weekend, isn't it?
