Design and colours
- The upcoming Pixel 8 series has been a hot topic of discussion after the leaked unboxing video, as shared by the YouTube channel, PBKreviews.
- It has revealed the design and packaging of the new series.
- The vanilla Pixel 8 appears in a sleek grey shade, while the Pixel 8 Pro looks to have a stylish matte black, grey and pink finish.
- The design remains consistent with the visor-style cameras, but the Pixel 8 Pro may feature a flat display instead of a curved one.
- The series is also anticipated to have sporting hole-punch displays and in-display fingerprint sensors.

Cameras
- The Pixel 8 Pro is going to have a triple rear camera setup, promising crisp and AI-integrated photography experiences.
- Meanwhile, the Pixel 8 is also expected to feature a dual-rear camera setup, both in a visor-shaped module.
- Reports suggest that both models will come equipped with a range of AI features in their cameras, such as an Audio Eraser, face unblur, and the ability to change faces in pictures and do away with blurs, photobombs and unwanted objects in the frame.

Performance
- Under the hood, it's rumoured that both Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro will be powered by Google's new in-house processor, the Tensor G3.
- The new chipset is expected to feature a 9-core CPU and deliver significant improvements.
- According to some reports, benchmark scores of the Pixel 8 Pro show impressive single-core and multi-core test results, way better than its predecessor Pixel 7 Pro.
Display
- Pixel 8 is anticipated to have a 6.17-inch full-HD+ OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, whereas the Pro model is said to come with a 6.71-inch LTPO OLED screen, offering QHD resolution and the same 120Hz refresh rate.
Prices
- As for the pricing, a $100 price increase for both Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, with the Pixel 8 starting at $699 and the Pro model at $899 is expected.
- However, it's worth noting that the new Pixels are expected to be priced a bit lower in India compared to the European market, making them accessible to a wider audience.
- According to some reports the Pixel 8's 128 GB variant might be placed between Rs 60,000-Rs 65,000. The sale in India will begin on October 5 on Flipkart.
Launch event
- At the 'Made by Google' event, apart from the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, Google is expected to unveil the Pixel Watch 2 and Pixel Buds Pro.
- The event will also be streamed on the Made by Google YouTube channel.
