Which is the most trolled profession? You would probably say engineering. But it is also one of the professions that's always in high demand and will always be. A day, September 15, is now dedicated to engineers as World Engineer's Day.
About the day: Engineer’s Day marks the birth anniversary of India’s first civil engineer, Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya. He received the Bharat Ratna in 1955 and several other awards for his contributions to the field of engineering. The day is now used as an opportunity to celebrate the profession.
Every year, India sees an engineering wave when students, in lakhs, choose this profession. This is probably the reason why there are too many relatable memes out there. To mark this day, let’s take you back to those evergreen engineering memes that you can share with your engineer friends (yes, we all know at least one of them).
1. Quest for the right title
Engineers are often described by the nature of work they do and not the job title they hold. For example: Civil engineer = construction worker, mechanical engineer = mechanic, and so on.
2. The pain of unemployment
With too many engineers and limited jobs, the memes around unemployment are lit.
3. Multiple professions as a result of unemployment
You would probably find engineers working in every department (not related to their field). So, multi-talented? Yes, right.
4. Engineering is the new MBA
Most engineers pursue an MBA after completing their graduation. Well, the trend has gone so far that the two professions now sound familiar.
5. For those failed or forced ones
Most in this profession are not in it by choice. Therefore, they become poets, writers and what not.
6. Throwback to 3 Idiots
Remember Abba nahi maanenge? Well, this is a story every engineer (almost) can relate to.
7. Engineers are also jugaadu
The profession is also synonymous with jugaads, just like this one.
