Sidhu Moose Wala murder mastermind Goldy Brar detained in US. The details

There seems to be some major development in the case of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala's murder. Goldy Brar, a Canada-based gangster who had claimed responsibility for Moose Wala's murder, has been detained in the US. 

What happened: So far, no official confirmation has been received by the Indian government or the intelligence agencies. But reports citing sources say that Goldy Brar was detained around November 20 in California, US. 

What we know so far: Goldy Brar, a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, had reportedly moved from Canada to the US recently. He was reportedly living in Fresno city right before his detention, but also treated cities like Sacramento, Frizow, and Salt Lake as hiding places. 

• The news comes a day after Sidhu Moose Wala's father, Balkaur Singh, demanded that the Punjab government announces a reward of at least Rs 2 crore for information on the gangster. 
• Singh said a bounty worked for the arrest of a Punjabi man who fled Australia after killing a woman. He was referring to the arrest of Rajwinder Singh. 

Who is Goldy Brar? Hailing from Punjab's Sri Muktsar Sahib, Goldy Brar or Satinder Singh is a Canada-based gangster. 

• He went to Canada on a student visa in 2017. 
• He's also an associate of Lawrence Bishnoi, a Punjabi gangster, whose gang killed Moose Wala. Bishnoi is currently in the custody of the NIA. 
• After Moose Wala's murder, Goldy Brar claimed responsibility for the attack in a Facebook post, saying that it was revenge for the murder of Akali leader Vicky Middukhera.

Punjabi singer and rapper, Sidhu Moose Wala was shot dead in his SUV on May 29 in Punjab's Mansa district. His murder came a day after his security cover was trimmed by the Punjab government.
