  • King Charles III and Queen Camilla graciously hosted the event, honoring President Yoon Suk Yeol and his spouse during their second state visit on November 21.

King Charles' commendation

  • During the state banquet, King Charles took a moment to address the members of Blackpink.

In a heartfelt speech, he said:

"I applaud Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa and Rose, better known collectively as Blackpink, for their role in bringing the message of environmental sustainability to a global audience as ambassadors for the UK's presidency of Cop26, and later as advocates for the UN sustainable development goals."

He also expressed his admiration for Blackpink's ability to prioritize important issues while simultaneously being global superstars.

Adding a touch of humour, he mentioned his involvement in the development of "Gangnam Style" during his time in Seoul—an expression referring to the extravagant lifestyles linked to Seoul's Gangnam area.

Touched by the royal acknowledgment, despite being seated separately, the Blackpink members exchanged glances, sharing smiles and gratitude.
