Zomato CEO clarifies after video of woman riding bike with delivery bag goes viral

A mysterious sight of a woman dressed as a Zomato customer care executive, riding a superbike through the streets of Indore, caught the attention of onlookers and social media users in India.

The recent video that went viral on various platforms sparked numerous questions and speculations.

The video, garnering over 1.1 million views, prompted viewers to wonder whether the woman was a Zomato delivery partner raising curiosity about the purpose behind her unusual ride.

Sharing the video on X, user Rajiv Mehta suggested a potential marketing ploy orchestrated by Zomato's marketing head in Indore. According to him, the company might have hired a model to drive around with an empty Zomato bag for promotional purposes during specific hours.

The video's reception among users was mixed, with some criticizing the use of a woman as a marketing tool and others highlighting the lack of safety measures, notably the absence of a helmet during the ride.

Zomato founder clarifies 

After receiving a backlash, Zomato's CEO replied to the video, clarifying that Zomato had nothing to do with the video. 

We don’t endorse helmet-less biking. Also, we don’t have a “Indore Marketing Head”. This seems to be someone just “free-riding” on our brand
