After what seemed like an entire year-long wait over November, Spotify Wrapped is finally here. Here’s a quick look at what’s new and first reactions to 2022 Wrapped.
The moment we've all been waiting for, the music streaming platform’s annual recap is here. Users enjoy a curated list of songs, artists, albums and listening patterns that they have experienced throughout the year (from January to October).Â
A quick app update is all you need to access your Spotify Wrapped 2022. Once open, Spotify will automatically display the 2022 Wrapped prompt for users to “Jump In”.
2022 Wrapped brings many fan-favourite features from the past to the table while providing a fresh experience with exciting new features as well. And it isn’t just the listeners. Artists and creators also receive a personalised Creator Wrapped to learn how they performed this year and how their fans have reacted.
As every year, Spotify has taken user listening patterns and transformed them into vibrant data stories that not only reveal our top songs, artists, albums and podcasts, but also curates our minutes listened, total songs played as well as our favourite genres.Â
This year, Spotify brings two brand-new features to Wrapped:
Audio Day: As a part of the Wrapped interactive story, Audio Day gives you a peek into how your music taste evolved throughout the day, showcasing the niche moods and aesthetic descriptors of the music you listened to during morning, midday, and evening time periods.
Listening Personalities: In a first, Spotify has included over 16 different Listening Personality types that are based on our taste in music. The Listening Personalities are calculated off of four metrics inspired by the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator - both are made up four letters that represent different parts of your personality:
Here are the 16 Listening Personality types from this year’s Spotify Wrapped:
The multicoloured kaleidoscopic designs that feature across 2022 Wrapped are the products of the platform’s data scientists and engineers, copywriters, designers, music and podcast editors, and more; led by Spotify’s Global Group Director, Marie Rönn.
