The month of September is drawing to a close, and as is our tradition every month, we bring you a list of the top five Instagram reel trends that you've likely come across on your Instagram feed.

'Ram Ram Bhai Saryane'

Let's begin with the one that made headlines. If you're an Instagram user, you've probably come across the phrase, "Ram Ram Bhai Saryane." Every influencer seems to have their unique take on this trend.

However, this trend actually originated with Ankit Baiyanpuria, an athlete from a small town in Haryana. Ankit was undertaking the 75-hard challenge, a fitness challenge lasting 75 days.

He used to kick off his videos with the greeting "Ram Ram Bhai Saryane," which went viral. Ankit now boasts more than 3 million followers on Instagram, and he successfully completed the challenge.

'The NRI girl living in a van: Namaste, mera naam Priya hai'

Following Ankit Baiyanpuria, we have another individual who has become a trending sensation on Instagram with the handle @himynameispriya, whose real name is Priya Singh. In just a few months, Priya's Instagram has gathered over 600k followers. She shares her life and adventures with her husband, who lives in a van.

However, what catapulted her to fame were three things:

  • Her accent when she speaks in Hindi
  • Her endearing (some call it cringe) attempts at speaking Hindi
  • Her greetings when she uses her accent and Hindi to start her reel, saying, "Namaste Mera Naam Priya Hai" followed by "and we (she and her husband) live in a van."
  • Her videos soon became a trend, attracting both love and hate. Instagram users started creating their versions of her reels, beginning with "Namaste Mera Naam... Hai."

But that's not all. Wondering how it became a trend? Not only did everyone become obsessed with her, with her content frequently appearing on everyone's "For You" page, but various influencers also started creating similar reels, attempting to astound their audience with creativity.

4. The little girl dancing

Instagram has an eternal obsession with baby videos, and in September, we were treated to an adorable Korean girl dancing to the catchiest beats with absolute cuteness. Predictably, the video went viral in no time, and people turned it into a reel trend, often using it to share good news, like realizing that tomorrow is the weekend.

5. The Delulu trend

Let's break down this trend for you:

Delulu stands for Delusional
Solulu is short for Solution

So when we say "Delulu is the only Solulu," it means being unrealistically idealistic about anything happening in your life. This viral reel trend took Instagram by storm, as people embraced their inner delulu and reveled in their imaginative world.
