You can't travel to UAE if you have a single name on Indian passport. Details here

If you are planning to travel to the UAE or have already booked your tickets, there is some urgent news you need to check. UAE has now banned entry for Indians whose passport doesn't mention the last name or a surname. 

• Those who have only their first names on their passports will not be allowed entry into the UAE.
• Now, this applies to even those who've already received their visas to travel to the UAE.

Before you board your flight, you will have to update your passport with a second name or a surname at the earliest. 

Visa type: The rule applies to passengers with a visit visa, visa on arrival, employment and temporary visas. 

• But if you are an existing UAE Resident card holder, you can breathe a sigh of relief; the rule doesn't apply to you. 
• For resident card holders, passengers with just their first name need to update that name as their 'First Name' and 'Surname' in travel documentation. 

The rule change came on November 21 and various Indian airlines including Air India, IndiGo, and others were informed of the same. 

• A passenger without a last name will be considered an INAD or an inadmissible passenger at immigration and will be sent back to the country of origin by the airline. 

Already several people with just their mononym on their passports are fervently reaching out to airlines about their issue. Some of them have already booked their flights, hotels, and everything else in advance. 

Dubai is a popular destination for several Indian nationals and the rule change coming ahead of holiday season can derail plans for several people.
