Another day, another Kardashian brand: Kylie Jenner launches 'affordable' luxury clothing line Khy

The multimillionaire entrepreneur and reality star Kylie Jenner shows no signs of slowing down. Following the overwhelmingly positive response to her previous swimwear line, 'Kylie Swims' (iykyk), she has now ventured into another brand, aiming to embody the concept of "affordable luxury."

Considering her recent release of an affordable concealer priced at 2,500 INR, scepticism lingers regarding the affordability factor of this new brand. Nonetheless, let me share what we currently know about the brand.

About the brand

Jenner recently shared a photo of herself seated on the ground, clad in what appears to be a black leather trench coat and red pumps, captioned "meet khy," along with an Instagram handle bearing the same name.

The brand's Instagram account currently boasts four posts, two of which feature Kylie sporting the black trench coat. Speculations quickly arose after Kylie's post, hinting at the possibility of a new clothing line under her helm.

The news was soon confirmed by Kylie's subsequent post, referencing a Wall Street Journal article that officially unveiled the launch of her new business venture.

Investors? Reports suggest that Jenner's brand is a collaborative effort involving her 'momager' Kris Jenner, as well as Emma and Jens Grede, known for their involvement in other multibillion-dollar Kardashian ventures such as Skims and Good American.

Prices

Given the notoriety of the Kardashian-Jenner clan for their high-end products, expectations for reasonable pricing were not particularly high.

According to the Cut, Jenner's inaugural collection, crafted in partnership with the brand Namilia, will comprise items like "faux leather pants, coats, tops, and base layers," encompassing "thirteen distinct pieces priced between $48 and $198," available in sizes ranging from XXS to 4X.

In a recent post, Khy unveiled "Kylie in the faux leather trench coat for $198," scheduled for release on November 1st.

For reference, $198 translates to 16,478 INR.

Initial reception

Initial responses to the brand seem lukewarm, perhaps owing to residual scepticism following Kylie's previous fashion endeavour, Kylie Swim, which encountered significant backlash and poor reviews.

Since then, Kylie has refrained from further promotion of Kylie Swim following the harsh criticism it received.
