Following the death of Queen Elizabeth II, people flocked to Les Prophéties in an attempt to decipher truths from his predictions. Before the start of the new year, here’s a little of what Nostradamus had in mind for 2023.
The French physician and astrologer lived in the 16th century and is known for his book Les Prophéties, a collection of 942 poetic quatrains that contain predictions of future events.
Nostradamus claimed to base his published predictions on judicial astrology - the astrological 'judgment', or assessment, of the 'quality' of events such as births, weddings, coronations etc - but was heavily criticised by professional astrologers of the day for incompetence and for assuming that "comparative horoscopy" could actually predict what would happen in the future.
Many people believe that Nostradamus's predictions have come true in the past, and some have even claimed that his prophecies have predicted events as recent as the 9/11 attacks and the rise of Adolf Hitler.
Many also argue that Nostradamus's predictions are characteristically vague, meaning they could be applied to virtually anything, and are useless for determining whether the poet had any real prophetic powers. In fact, many of Nostradamus's predictions have been proven to be false or have not come to pass at all, which suggests that his prophecies should not be taken too seriously.
Though his quatrains are notoriously difficult to interpret to find references to events that may occur in the future, here are a few possible predictions for 2023 based on some of Nostradamus's quatrains:
In quatrain 5.78, Nostradamus wrote:
This quatrain could be interpreted to mean that a major disaster, possibly a natural one or a terrorist attack, will occur in 2023.
In quatrain 8.23, Nostradamus wrote:
This quatrain could suggest that a new leader will emerge in the Eastern part of the world in 2023, who will be able to bring peace and prosperity to the region.
Here are a few more predictions Nostradamus had in mind for 2023:
Yet, despite the many instances of proven accuracy, all of the above seems speculatory and based on vague assumptions. The truth behind Nostradamus’s apparent gift of foresight remains open to interpretation.
Overall, it is important to note that Nostradamus's quatrains are often open to interpretation and should not be taken as definitive predictions. It is always best to approach these types of prophecies with caution and skepticism.
We would highly recommend turning to the much more reliable contemporary prophets for all foresight/fortune-telling activities...
