Lionel Messi's Inter Miami FC is all set to take on Cristiano Ronaldo's Al Nassr in February 2024 as part of their preseason international tour, announced the Major League Soccer (MLS) club on Tuesday (December 11).
This marks the club's first-ever international tour, featuring two matches in a round-robin tournament format.
Their opponents in this exciting lineup are Saudi powerhouses Al-Hilal SFC and Al Nassr FC.
The much-awaited clash between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo is about to happen, reigniting their legendary football rivalry.
Ronaldo made a shock move from Manchester United to Al-Nassr last season, where he bagged 34 goals and 12 assists in 41 games of the first season.
This season, he continued his stellar form, scoring 20 goals and providing 10 assists in 22 matches so far.
Messiās performance in the Leagues Cup gave a kickstart to his American career, where he scored 10 goals and assisted once, bringing home Inter Miami's first-ever major trophy.
Inter Miami missed the MLS playoffs; however, Messi's exceptional play earned him the 2023 season MVP. Messiās transfer even increased jersey sales and viewership, revitalizing the team and the league.
With an impressive 13 Ballon d'Or awards between them, Messi leads with eight, while Ronaldo has five, setting the stage for an epic showdown.
