Before the German composer’s new album Music For Animals drops this Friday, we take a look at his most popular track and the impact it has had on people from across the world.

Nils Frahm is a musician, composer and record producer, best known for his uncanny ability to amalgamate classical renditions with electronic melodies. His work has catapulted him to global recognition for his transformative live performances that have left audiences spellbound.

Here's a quick brief on Nils Frahm:

Today, Frahm continues to work as an accomplished composer, producer and celebrated performer from his Berlin-based studio. His unconventional approach to an age-old instrument, played contemplatively and intimately, and on a breathtaking scale through his vast stage shows, has won him many fans around the world.

His album Spaces, which dropped in 2014 and arguably his biggest break, consisted of a compilation of live recordings he had made over two years. Of the tracks on this album, Frahm seems to have struck gold, with one title in particular, what he has referred to as his "money card"...

It seems like most others, I chanced upon Frahm and Says at the height of the pandemic. It probably comes as no surprise how mellow, ambient music served as a temporary escape from the bleak realities of the world outside during the lockdown period.

Says seemed to be, like many others', my only means of getting any semblance of sleep when the lockdown overturned my sleep schedule entirely. It is calming in ways you'd never deem possible.

The hypnotic loops of the track have you wrapped before you realise it. Frahm “says” it all without saying anything at all.

As it was then, and still remains, for me and many others across the world, Says takes us someplace special, every time.

Nils Frahm's latest album, Music For Animals, drops on music platforms on Friday.
