We asked AI for Indian Transformers and this is what it came up with

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is the latest installment in the Transformers franchise and this time around, it introduces audiences to the Maximals, the race of "beast-robots". So, while Optimus Prime can transform into a truck and Megatron can turn into a tank, these Maximals can transform from alien robots to a gorilla, an eagle, a cheetah and what not. It's just another ridiculously over-the-top addition to the series.

Ahead of the new movie, we tried to recreate some of the classic Transformer robots with the AI art softwares Midjourney and DALL-E. Here are the results. 

Optimus Prime 

In his truck form, Optimus Prime does come off as a believably flashy form that we can hopefully find in some corner of India. However, in his robotic form, he comes off more as a Japanese mecha-suit. The only thing Indian about the latter is perhaps the grimy streets and crowded people in a basti-like area behind Optimus. AI still needs to improve over its "Western depictions of India"!

Megatron

When asked to reimagine the antagonistic Transformer Megatron in India, DALL-E went down a literal route bestowing a Megatron figure with actual "transformers" for feet. The stunning images comes off as a humongous effigy fit for a Dussehra-like festival. 

Bumblebee

Bumblebee gets sized down significantly with the dusty Indian streets (again) in the background. While his head is almost similar to his Western counterpart, this Indian Bumblebee's yellow colour and conveyor belt-like feet might just make him transform him into a mini-JCB of sorts!

Starscream

Starscream is the evil henchman of Megatron who can turn into a fighter jet. While Midjourney offered a dystopian glimpse at him with some butterfly-like wings, DALL-E almost turned him into one of the unused Indian Air Force airplanes (mostly Mig-21s) that are preserved as memorials in Indian parks!
