The Creed III trailer is out. Here are some of the greatest on-screen boxers from cinema

Adonis is back for more as Creed III drops its first trailer. We look at a few of the greatest boxers from cinematic history that would most definitely give Donnie a run for his money.

Michael B Jordan dons the gloves once more for round three in the Creed franchise. The third installment in the Rocky spinoff film series marks Jordan’s directorial debut, with a screenplay by Keenan Coogler and Zach Baylin from a story they co-wrote with Ryan Coogler. Here’s the trailer of the film:

The ninth part in the Rocky continuation features Jordan as the titular Adonis Creed, son of the late legendary fighter Apollo Creed, alongside Tessa Thompson, Wood Harris, Florian Munteanu and Phylicia Rashad reprising their roles.

This time, Adonis faces a sinister foe from his past. Seven years after Creed II, after dominating the boxing world, Adonis has been thriving in both his career and family life. When a childhood friend and former boxing prodigy, Damian "Dame" Anderson, resurfaces after serving a long sentence in prison, he is eager to prove that he deserves his shot in the ring. The face-off between former friends is more than just a fight. To settle the score, Donnie must put his future on the line to battle Dame – a fighter who has nothing to lose.

Time shall tell whether Adonis is left standing after his next face-off. But before that, we compile some of the finest boxers from cinematic history that would go toe-to-toe with Adonis in the ring and hold their own.

We’re excluding characters from the Rocky franchise including Ivan Drago, Clubber Lang, Apollo Creed and the Italian Stallion himself, for the fact that those legends are absolutely untouchable and it would be unfair for the competition. And for obvious reasons, domestic abuser and rapist Jake LaMotta shall not be included within our compilation of course.
