Former actress Gayatri Joshi, who starred opposite Shah Rukh Khan in the critically acclaimed movie Swades, and her husband Vikas Oberoi recently met with a car accident while they were vacationing in Italy.
Although Gayatri Joshi and her husband are doing fine, the multiple-car collision left a senior Swiss couple dead.
What happened
- According to a report by The Free Press Journal, Gayatri Joshi and Vikas Oberoi were driving on a rural road in Sardinia in their Lamborghini when the luxury car collided with a Ferrari and a camper van.
- A Swiss couple that was travelling in the Ferrari died when the high-end vehicle caught fire.
- The elderly couple who lost their lives were identified as Melissa Krautli, 63, and Markus Krautli, 67, from Switzerland.
- How did the accident take place? Reports suggest that while the Lamborghini and Ferrari were attempting to overtake the huge camper van ahead of them, they collided and a major accident took place.
- The camper van ahead also overturned on the road while the Ferrari caught fire.
- Gayatri and Vikas Oberoi are safe and sound: The Swades actress confirmed with The Free Press Journal that "Vikas and I are in Italy. We met with an accident here (multiple-car collision). With God’s grace, we both are absolutely fine."
- The incident is said to have taken place during the Sardinia Supercar Tour as part of which luxury cars parade from Teulada to Olbia.
