With over 227k followers on Instagram, Orhan Awatramani is quite the social figure. A friend to several star kids including the likes of Aryan Khan and Ananya Panday, Awataramani is back in the spotlight, this time as Janhvi Kapoor's rumoured boyfriend.
Janhvi and Orhan have seemingly made it official on the red carpet at yesterday's Nykaa Beauty Awards as they were clicked by the paparazzi holding hands and smiling. Awataramani and the actress who was last seen in Mili had already been hinting their closeness through Instagram comments. For instance, when Kapoor recently shared her photos from Maldives, Awatarmani's comment read, "I'm on an island, even when we're close."
When the latter posted a Halloween photo album (while casually "flexing" his Prada sweater), Kapoor was quick to comment, "Miss you baby."
Now that the couple have made it official, the question arises --
Who even is Orhan Awataramani?
As his Instagram handle goes and as his high-profile friends call him, "Orry" is currently a Project Manager at the Chairperson's Office of the Reliance Foundation. In simpler words, he is involved in several art initiatives under Reliance.
A Design and Technology graduate from New York's Parsons School of Design (the alma mater of fashion designers Tom Ford and Marc Jacobs), Awataramani also calls himself a social activist. His social media presence however is characterised by his flamboyant parties, dinners, and brunches that see the presence of star kids like Nysa Devgn, Sara Ali Khan, Aryan Khan, and others.
When it comes to his international friends, he has also partied with Kylie Jenner while attending a Travis Scott concert.
While his background and networking skills suggest that he hails from a wealthy business family, there's hardly any public information on the Internet about his familial relations.
What is Orhan like (at least according to his Insta)?
Wearing Prada and Balenciaga and travelling all around the world, Awatramani doesn't shy away from offering a glimpse at his rich lifestyle. As of late, he has also been sporting box braids similar to the ones sported by several black celebs, most notably Travis Scott. (Would Orry's "social activist" side cancel himself for cultural appropriation?)
While he might have a fancy wardrobe, even he can succumb to some eyebrow-raising (in the negative way) outfits like this cheetah print shirt!
Even his caption game is reminiscent of eighth graders using Facebook in the early 2010s. Just take these gems as examples, "They might have more followers but I surely have more friends" (in an image with Ibrahim Ali Khan and Alaya F), and
"Let me know that I’ve done wrong, but I’ve known this all along" in a photo where he looks like a "desi Drake".
Is Orry being sarcastic or is that just the way he talks? Janhvi would know, I guess!
