Pop star Selena Gomez and former One Direction member Zayn Malik sparked dating rumours as the two were seen enjoying each other’s company. The duo was spotted kissing and holding hands during a cozy, romantic dinner in SoHo in New York City on March 23 night.

- The rumours around ‘Zelena’ first sparked when TikTok user Klarissa Garcia (@klarissa.mpeg) posted a viral video of a text exchange with a friend of her who claimed that she was the pair’s hostess at the restaurant where the ‘Only Murders in the building’ star and ‘Pillowtalk’ singer dined together.
- In the video that went viral posted by TikToker Klarissa Garcia, she first explained that she and her friend work at places that are often visited by celebs, before she shared the text screenshot of her conversation with her friend that said: “Tell me how Selena Gomez and Zayn just walked into [restaurant] hand in hand making out and I seated them.”
- An eyewitness told Entertainment Tonight, “Selena and Zayn went out in SoHo in New York City last night at around 10.30 pm. They walked in holding hands and were kissing. Most restaurant staff and restaurantgoers didn't notice them. It seemed like they were comfortable together and it was clear that it was a date."
- The two singers follow each other on Instagram, where fans noticed that Selena Gomez recently followed Zayn Malik back on Instagram - could this be a hint that they are together?

Most recently, the Rare Beauty founder was linked to The Chainsmokers’ Drew Taggart after the two were spotted holding hands and allegedly making out when they were out together at a bowling alley in late January in New York. However, the singer was quick to hush these speculations when she confirmed on Instagram that she was single.
British singer Zayn Malik welcomed his daughter Khai in 2020 with ex-girlfriend supermodel Gigi Hadid. The two called it quits in October 2021.

- The dating rumours have sparked amidst Selena Gomez and Hailey Bieber’s recent online drama.
- The two have always been pitted against one another by their respective fans who have sworn allegiance by the two seriously.
- However, things got heated up when a few days back Hailey Bieber reached out to the Rare Beauty founder because she received death threats, online hate and bullying from Selena fans.
- To address this, Selena posted an Instagram story on March 24 saying: “Hailey Bieber reached out to me and let me know that she has been receiving death threats and such hateful negativity. This isn't what I stand for. No one should have to experience hate or bullying. I've always advocated for kindness and really want all of this to stop.”
- A few hours later, Hailey Bieber posted an extensive note thanking the pop star for “speaking out”.
