The popular Japanese shounen anime One Piece get’s its fifteenth feature film following its 20-year run. We compiled a list of some of the longest running anime that would probably take you several lifetimes to catch up on.

Having first aired in 1999, One Piece originated as an adaptation of the manga of the same name by Eiichiro Oda and follows the adventures of Monkey D Luffy, a boy whose body gained the properties of rubber after unintentionally eating a Devil Fruit. With his crew of pirates, named the Straw Hat Pirates, Luffy explores the Grand Line in search of the world's ultimate treasure known as "One Piece" in order to become the next Pirate King.

The series remains one of the longest running anime of all time, with 1,035 aired episodes and multiple spin-off films and shorts ever since its conception. Though it may surprise most to learn that despite over a 1000 episodes, One Piece doesn’t even break Top 10 when compared to some gargantuan anime.
