Leo trailer brings Sanjay Dutt back to a villain role and sparks Jawan comparisons

After several days of high-tension anticipation and a lot of controversy with its music launch, the trailer for Vijay’s upcoming action-thriller Leo has finally dropped. The trailer gives Vijay’s usual massy vibes and fans are loving it.

The trailer for Vijay’s new movie Leo, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, dropped on YouTube and people have been waiting a long time for it. The two minute forty-three second trailer has come after a whole lot of anticipation and the recent controversy related to the movie’s recently canceled music launch. 

The entire teaser gives off Vijay's classic massy vibes and Vijay fans on social media are already comparing the style of the movie with  that of SRK’s Jawan. The trailer rules out any chances of Leo being part of Lokesh Kanagaraj's film universe. 

Apart from all the hype-points that the trailer has left fans gushing with, Sanjay Dutt as a one of the two prominent antagonists of the film, has surely been one of the standouts.

What to expect? 

An Anirudh musical

• It is safe to say that Anirudh Ravichander has become one of the most renowned music producers, after the phenomenal praise he got for his work in SRK and Atlee’s Jawan. 
• Anirudh will be making his return with Leo and the trailer has already given a glimpse of his brilliance in the trailer with his song Badass. 

Sanjay Dutt as a dark villain

• Sanjay Dutt will be playing the joint villain of Leo along with Arjun Sarja and people are loving his vibe from the trailer.

• Sanjay makes a return to the South Indian film industry with Leo, after his last work as a villain in KGF: Chapter 2. Sanjay received a lot of good reviews for his role in  KGF: Chapter 2 and by the glimpses of him in the trailer, fans are expecting the same.

A Jawan challenge?

• Ever since the movie’s announcement, people have been comparing Leo relentlessly with SRK’s Jawan, which has set the expectations level at a sky high rate for the Vijay-Kanagaraj film. 

• Leo follows an entirely different storyline than Jawan but it is safe to say that both the films do carry the same cinema-style, paving the way for more comparisons. 
• Jawan crossed the historic mark of Rs 1000 crore from worldwide earnings and this is surely a big challenge for Leo that comes along with the comparisons.
