After Ezra Miller's arrest in Margarita Village, Hawaii, and they being charged with disorderly conduct and harassment, Warner Bros has decided to pause all future projects with them.
Although Ezra Miller (who goes by the pronouns they/them) are currently released on bail, Ezra has had multiple such incidents since 2020, all over the world and on set. (READ MORE HERE: Warner Bros pauses projects with Ezra Miller. Twitter hits back with Amber Heard)
Since it is not known whether Ezra will continue to be Warner Bros' DCEU Flash, due to release in June 2023, fans are demanding on Twitter for him to be replaced with Arrowverse's Flash, Grant Gustin. Grant has been the TV series's Flash for the past 8 years and the show has been successfully running since 2014 on The CW.
Currently, the show is in its 8th season and is all set to return for the 9th season. Until now, Ezra has potrayed Flash in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Suicide Squad and Justice League (both released and Snyder's version).
This is not the first time fans have demanded Gustin Grant be cast as DCEU's Flash. At the time of Ezra's announcement as the Flash, Grant's very strong and loyal fanbase protested Warner Bros' decision to cast Ezra as the new Flash. And once again, they are demanding that Grant be baptised big screen's Flash too.
Fans are coming together and saying that Grant deserves a chance to shine on the big screen with a real, non-CW budget.
Here is what some fans are saying:
1. NO RESPECT FOR THE FLASH
2. HARD TIME ACCEPTING EZRA
3. IT'S TIME TO RECAST
4. EZRA ISN'T HEROIC
5. GIVE GRANT A CHANCE
But as always, there are some that do not want Grant to replace Ezra.
Here's what they are saying:
1. VALIDATING A TOXIC FANDOM
2. WHOLE NEW LEVEL OF COMMITMENT
3. NEW ACTORS, PLEASE
4. NOT THE SAME ACTING CAPABILITIES
5. LOVE GRANT, NEED A NEW FLASH
Even though Ezra's future as Flash is not known, Indian fans got to see Ezra on the big screen as he reprised his role as Credence Barebone, in the newely released Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore on April 8.
While it is universally agreed that Gustin Grant would make a great Barry Allen on the big screen, it would be a bit difficult for WB to switch actors. While Arrowverse's sixth crossover event 'Crisis on Infinite Earths' did introduce the multiverse and set up a possibility for the Arrowverse and the DCEU to meet, it would nearly be impossible to introduce Grant as the new Flash out of the blue.
No new names have yet emerged as replacement for Ezra as the Flash.
(Psst... a way for WB to introduce Grant as the new Flash would be in the end of the upcoming movie releasing in June 2023, by tinkering around in the speedforce and/or the multiverse.)
