If Trump is next US president, Ivanka will call the shots

If there's going to be a Donald Trump presidency after the United States of America votes in November this year, brace for the unconventionally and unapologetically overwhelming presence of the phenomenon that's Ivanka Trump.

Also, move over FLOTUS and please make way for DOTUS, aka Daughter-in-chief Of The United States of America.

Ivanka, the Republican candidate's eldest and fiercest daughter, is by herself a proxy president in the making and may be a future president too.

Playboy bunny looks

Ivanka's drop dead gorgeous looks make her a perfect candidate for her real estate tycoon cum former reality TV star father's telegenic angel and PR head. She is a cross between a Playboy bunny and a shrewd business head, managing the tentacular Trump family with her cool poise in a body to die for.

In fact, the Trump family's Barbie doll-style bodily perfection can be a white American fantasy come true. Make America a Playboy mansion once again.

Lady Macbeth

The 34-year-old Ivanka has made many a crucial decision within the Trump campaign, including firing his former aide and campaign manager Corey Lewandowski in June this year.

Ivanka also made Mike Pence the choice for the important executive post of the vice-president, which pretty much means the actual powers will lay with Donald Trump and his over-engaged family, chiefly Ivanka.

She also jabbed a finer at Ted Cruz when the latter refused to endorse Trump at the Republican National Convention and asked America to "vote according to its conscience".

'Feminist'

Despite being born to a father whose misogynist gaffes are by now legion, Ivanka is quick to point out how the Trump family is pro-women.

Ivanka has taken pains to soften the blow after Donald Trump's run-in with Megyn Kelly, the Fox News anchor, which earned him global ridicule. In several interviews, Ivanka has stressed how her father adores women and is even a "feminist", promoting women to high positions within his extensive and expansive empire.

All American family

With Ivanka at the penultimate position, the Trump family appears to be a made-for-television gathering promising to turn American national politics into a reality TV show, perhaps an extension of Trump's own The Apprentice, or better still, a bigger version of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?

Ivanka remains the all-powerful and potent voice of the congregation that is the Trump family, and their conversations - though devoid of any real connection with American realities - are nevertheless going to be lapped up in an increasingly white supremacist America.

Trump's high-voltage talk - of sending back Syrian refugees or shutting out all Muslims, emboldening the gun lobby after the spate of firings, or praising dictatorial country heads such as Vladimir Putin or Turkey's Erdogan - sits comfortably with Ivanka's intentionally "feminised" self-presentation, thereby completing the ideal (read white and extremely wealthy) American family.

These might be comparisons more obviously suited to the plagiarism-gaffe stung Melania Trump, but if there's a real brain in the Trump family, it's not within Donald Trump's cranium. It is verily inside Ivanka Trump's picture perfect head, and also in her husband, Jared Kushner's low-key, quiet mind.

Ivanka Trump is someone Hillary Clinton should be scared of, literally.

The new 'fixer'

Trump's language - peppered with words like "deal", "fixing", "gamble", "lobbying", "cashing in" etc - has the potential of turning American politics into a casino.

Ivanka is sure to be the undisputed lady of the casino, keeping a tab on all the players, being Trump's eyes and ears at a time when his own party is mortified about his intentions and what his presidency can do.

Surely and steadily, Ivanka is being groomed to take on the lead role herself.
