Rohith's family calls you a liar, Smriti Irani. Stop mocking Parliament

There you go. Smriti Irani, your cover has been blown – again!

We always knew your histrionics in Parliament were just that – histrionics – and now Rohith Vemula’s family and friends have debunked your claims openly during a press conference in the capital.

You, the "Yale Graduate", have proved once again that you just make a lot of noise and act on the premise that if you shout loudly enough, harping on falsehood, many people will believe that you are speaking the truth.

Not this time. What were you thinking, Madam Minister, when you were delivering that speech in the temple of democracy? Were you aware you were lying – blatantly – or were you so poorly informed that you thought your "officials" and bureaucrats were giving you facts?

The "child’s" family has said you have lied. Have you? The "child" was declared dead by the chief medical officer on duty soon after he died, yet you insist no one was allowed to go near his body for close to 24 hours! Why?

I will not be surprised if you claim by this evening that Rohith’s family has been “politically influenced”. By whom? Mayawati?

Which takes me back to your heated exchange when you addressed the former Uttar Pradesh chief minister. You said if Ms Mayawati is not satisfied with your response, you would chop off your head and offer it at her feet.

Well, she has said in the Rajya Sabha today that she isn’t satisfied. So what are we waiting for?

You've made a mockery of Parliament, of our democracy. You think the voters are fools. We are not. In spite of the "bhakts" and the trolls, we are still a sane nation that values sense.

And you don’t make any. Not then. Not now. Not ever.
