The game of "AIADMK poker" is turning interesting with an apparent return of TTV Dhinakaran, who enters the table with more muscle than before he went to prison.
The game, which started with the death of former Tamil Nadu CM Jayalalithaa, has not ended yet and with every passing month a new twist seems to appear, raising the curiosity of viewers.
With the card handler's (Jayalalithaa) death, the table resembling Tamil Nadu had been left to the players, viz Sasikala, TTV, OP Panneerselvam, E Palanisamy and some new players such as Sengottayan and Jayakumar, with the Centre playing the "Master of the House" role. It can't be denied that the Centre is occasionally influencing the players, as per the game's projection.
The first one to exit the game was Sasikala who is apparently now whiling away her time in Parapanna Agrahara prison. Filling her shoes was her nephew Dhinakaran who in the first round played "shadow master" using EPS and Sengottayan earlier as his "card readers".
Noticing this, the "Master of the House" (Centre) allegedly decided to extend its hand and with one magic spell called "Sukesh Chandra bribery-spell", with TTV ending up in prison.
Much was in favour now for OPS who simply had to garner the shivering herd of MLAs called affectionately as "Kuvathur boys" by Tamilians, but failed and could only hold to his earlier number of 12.
To everyone's astonishment but not surprise, EPS, the loyal comrade of TTV, changed colours and allegedly surrendered his cards of 122 to the Centre, thereby becoming the "interim-winner" of that round.
This decision came after health minister Vijayabhaskar ended in trouble for again allegedly "side-handing" cards to TTV, for which even the income tax department conducted a raid at his home. Interestingly, all these allegations vanished with the arrest of TTV.
Both EPS and OPS are big players in the political game.
Well, as the Centre thought the game had come to an end, the "Sukesh Chandra-bribery spell" cast upon TTV vanished, which led to his freedom. Now began the third round.
TTV leaving prison seemed more determined, for he left for prison as a corrupt politician but returned back as a medieval hero who has battled a dragon and survived. Thousands gathered at the Chennai airport to greet him.
TTV left for Bangalore to meet his aunt Sasikala, the original player before returning to the table. This time even before the game could begin, TTV made sure that he needed to "capture" his cards and in just 24 hours caught 30 (an act the Centre thought OPS could accomplish at one point).
By June 7, TTV's card numbers rose to 32 and he is expected to raise up to 45. Interestingly, TTV has buried three important cards into what EPS is shuffling in his hand - of which two can bite his hand anytime TTV orders. The claim is that, with the Centre not dealing a straight hand and TTV being the man who taught OPS the game, he still can overpower the other players.
And as for the Centre, it has already exhausted its "IT-raid" card which means, this time TTV is serious and is ready to undermine the EPS government without the CM's knowledge.
The Assembly session which is to begin on June 14 will act as the "wild card" round and to tackle EPS's side player, finance minister Jayakumar, TTV is bringing in the RK Nagar heavy MLA, Vetrivel.
There is one more player on the table sitting idly for a long period now with a big booty of cards - DMK's MK Stalin. His mates explain that the working president is not happy with the game for now and wants a re-shuffle in the name of the "Assembly election" and is wishing to bet huge and acquire all the cards.
