Yoga day is actually a gift by Modi government to make memes
Three years ago, the United Nations declared June 21 as the International Yoga Day. Since then, there has been no turning back. If there is one thing that the BJP government has managed to glamorise and give a complete makeover to, it is yoga.
It’s the third International Yoga Day today and celebrations are on!
Not just in India, but internationally as well, from Colombia to the United States, Paraguay, Mexico, and more. Even in China, thousands of yoga schools have seized upon this day as an opportunity to spread their message. More than 30,000 people participated in events organised by the consulate in Shanghai.
In India, things have their own grandeur. Bollywood actors, politicians, members of the armed forces, sportsmen and women, and the aam junta, everyone has happily participated in this celebration of good health (both physical and mental).
But apart from being a major photo-op for the BJP government, the Yoga Day celebrations are also a treasure trove.
