শুধু রাজনৈতিক মহলই নয়, প্রাক্তন প্রধানমন্ত্রী অটলবিহারী বাজপেয়ীর প্রয়াণে শোকপ্রকাশ করেছে বণিকমহলও, কারও কাছে তিনি প্রবাদপ্রতিম, কারও তিনি আদর্শস্থানীয়। অনেকে আবার তাঁর প্রতি শ্রদ্ধা জ্ঞাপন করেছেন মাটির কাছে থেকে সমস্যা দেখে সেই অনুযায়ী নীতি নির্ধারণ করার জন্য।
টেলি যোগাযোগ ব্যবস্থার আধুনীকিকরণ থেকে বেসরকারিকরণ, বিমানে ভ্রমণ সহজ ও সস্তা করে দেওয়া এবং ভারতে স্টার্ট-আপ সংস্থার ভিত্তি নির্মাণ—বাজপেয়ী ছিলেন দেশের প্রতি নিবেদিতপ্রাণ। অর্থনীতিতেও তাঁর অবদান কোনও দিন ভোলা যাবে না।
