Will Bollywood ever make Sunny Leone a star?

Sunny Leone perhaps has no clue how to react right now. Only a few weeks ago she was toasting the minor success of Ek Paheli Leela. She had arrived, she would have thought.

And now, the shocking stats of Kuch Kuch Locha Hai have turned all such ideas on the head. The film had a Rs 3.45-crore opening week, lowest for any Sunny release yet.

An obvious question — and there is space for the question now — comes up: Is Sunny Leone a star at all? Or just a case of flukes like Leela and Ragini MMS 2 amid exaggerated hype? 

The notion comes up also because Sunny has so far failed to create impact in the endorsement market despite constantly staying in the news. In an era when hype blurs the line between real and plastic glamour, an ex-porn star chasing Bollywood glory would draw curiosity. It’s not necessarily stardom.
